Kokomo-area Tournament Results
The team of Dana and Shaun Burton came away winners at the first Kokomo Reservoir open team bass tourney of the season. The weekly event is sponsored by Cardwell Built Construction. Even though the teams had to deal with high and muddy water conditions, the Burton’s swept the event with two largemouth bass dropping the digital scales at 3.90 pounds. They also earned the contest’s “big fish” honor with a largemouth tipping the scales at just over two pounds. Darla and Steve Kelley snagged second place with one bass weighing 1.77 pounds.
Due to extremely high water the Bustin’ Guts benefit crappie tourney previously planned for last Sunday has been rescheduled to May 21 from 8am to 12:15 pm. The event will still take place at the Kokomo Reservoir. Tournament rules will allow up to three people in a boat and bank fishing will also be permitted on areas open to the public. Door prizes and a picnic lunch will be available to competing anglers. The purpose of the event is to help generate funds aiding children who will enroll in this summer’s 34th annual Jim “Moose” Carden Kids Fishing Clinic.
If you are interested in registering for the tournament or would like additional details you can go to the Bustin’ Guts Facebook page.
If you’re into friendly, competitive bass fishing, Adams Auto Group will host their 14th annual open team bass tourney also helping raise funds for Kokomo’s recognized youth fishing clinic. The event will take place May 20 from sunrise to 2pm on the Kokomo Reservoir. In addition to the cash payout and trophies, Adams Tire Outlet will provide a free set of trailer tires to one lucky angler.
