Plano Guide Series Lumbar Fishing Pack
One of the biggest problems when wading rivers and creeks during summer is where to store your tackle and the other gear necessary for a day of fishing.
Our current favorite, now in its third year season with us, is the Plano Guide Series Lumbar Fishing Pack.
The pack has a myriad of features that make it ideal for the wading or walking angler.
Our choice is the 3600 Lumbar Pack that has room for three 3600-sized plastic boxes in the main compartment along with other gear in six pockets. Typically we only carry one 3600-box along with a water bottle, sunscreen, a snack and other accessories in the main bag. Pliers, stringers, measuring tapes and other smaller items go into the other smaller pockets.
Aside from adaptability for gear storage, we love the many ways the Lumbar Pack can be carried depending on mood and destination. It can be worn as a waist pack, slung by a strap over one shoulder (our usual method) or carried using the hidden integrated backpack. It also has a very useful hand loop on the top. The bag is well made and aside from some sun fading after much time on the water, our current bag is indistinguishable from a brand-new model we just received.
As someone who has waded with every sort of backpack, sling bag, messenger bag and even an old gas mask pouch, we wholeheartedly endorse the Plano Lumbar Fishing Pack.
